Dr. Andrea Furlan

Andrea Furlan is a specialist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. She obtained a PhD degree in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto. Currently she is Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at University of Toronto, Senior Scientist at KITE, Toronto Rehab, UHN and Scientist at the Institute for Work & Health. She is chair of ECHO Ontario Chronic Pain and Opioid Stewardship and Co-chair of ECHO Occupational and Environmental Medicine a pilot project funded by WSIB. She is a physician in the pain clinic at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, which is part of the Toronto Academic Pain Medicine Institute (TAPMI).

Dr. Larry Robinson

Dr. Larry Robinson serves as Professor and Chief of the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Toronto. Dr. Robinson is based at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre where he participates in a combined clinic with several amazing plastic surgeons. He also holds the John and Sally Eaton Chair in Rehabilitation Sciences. Dr. Robinson has published extensively on rehabilitation and electrodiagnosis with >200 publications in the peer-reviewed literature. He has recently served as President of the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and chief examiner for the EMG section of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology. He developed a method for diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome known as the Combined Sensory Index (he prefers the name "Robinson Index"). In 2017 he received the lifetime achievement award from the American Association of Electrodiagnostic and Neuromuscular Medicine (AANEM).

Dr. Michael Catapano

Dr. Catapano completed his medical degree at McMaster University and subsequently went to Toronto to complete his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency. Most recently, he travelled to Boston to complete a Harvard University Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine focusing on the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and the use of ultrasound for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. He has a clinical expertise on the non-operative treatment of sports and musculoskeletal injuries and the use of diagnostic ultrasound. His research interests are in musculoskeletal rehabilitation after high-energy trauma as well as the non-operative treatment of orthopedic issues and the use of ultrasound.

Dr. Jordan Farag

Dr. Jordan Farag is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He attended medical school at McMaster University, and residency at the University of British Columbia. Subsequently, he completed a clinical fellowship in Interventional Physiatry at the University of Toronto. He is a diplomate of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists (Dip CSCN â€" EMG) and Canadian Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine (Dip CASEM â€" Sports Medicine). Dr. Farag currently holds a full-time academic position as a Clinician-Teacher in the Department of Medicine, University of Toronto. He works at the Toronto Rehab Institute, where he is a consultant in the Interventional and Electromyography outpatient clinics, in addition to the Musculoskeletal and Multi-System Rehab inpatient program. He is the medical lead of the EMG Lab at Toronto Rehab. His clinical focus includes assessment and treatment of complex neuromusculoskeletal pain conditions, polytrauma and peripheral nerve injuries.

Dr. Paul Winston

He is a clinical associate professor with the University of British Columbia and the Island Medical Program. He is the Past President of the Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Medical Director of Restorative Health at Island Heath. He co-founded Canadian Advances in Neuro-Orthopedics for Consortium. This organization now routinely offers the world's best lecturers to members from more than 50 countries with a mandate of bringing new ideas to the world and fostering developing nations. Along with Dr. Daniel Vincent, Interventional anesthesiologist in Victoria, their cryoneurolysis protocols are rapidly gaining traction with implementation spreading fast across North America and Europe, including Oxford, Harvard universities. The co-authored the first text book on ultrasound guided diagnostic nerve blocks for spasticity. He obtained his MD at Western and completed his residency in PMR at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Nimish Mittal

Dr. Nimish Mittal is an Assistant Professor at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He holds cross-appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education. Dr. Mittal is a clinician-researcher and holds more than $2 million in peer reviewed grants. He has published several articles in indexed high impact peer-reviewed journals and is an invited speaker at several international physiatry and pain conferences. His clinical and research interests include advancing innovative best clinical practices in chronic musculoskeletal joint pains using image-guided injections. He is passionate about developing treatment pathways and models of care for multi-systemic problems in hypermobility related complex connective tissue disorders.

Dr. Diane Nam

Diane Nam, MSc MD FRCSC, is a clinician scientist in the Holland Bone and Joint Program/Biological Sciences Platform at Sunnybrook Research Institute and an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. She is an orthopaedic trauma surgeon at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center with expertise in polytraumatic conditions of the upper limb. While Dr. Nam is an established scientist having received numerous peer reviewed grant funding to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms in bone regeneration and is currently leading a randomized controlled clinical trial in fracture treatment, she also has a high-volume elective clinical practice managing complex tertiary referrals in revision shoulder and elbow arthroplasty and tendon reconstruction. She provides a unique perspective as an academic translational upper limb surgeon combining her clinical interests in orthopaedic trauma and fundamental research.
